Skylar Alice Marie Jones, 14, and Gaige Marshall Dehaven, 10, were pronounced dead by first responders in Perryville after their sister found them on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

At 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Maryland State Police troopers were called to the 600 block of Cole Street to assist the Perryville Police Department, where they were met by two children in cardiac arrest.

The 911 call came from their 12-year-old sister.

Both children were subject to an autopsy, though the cause and manner of their deaths remain under investigation after there were no abnormalities in the report, according to investigators.

Investigators are now waiting on toxicology reports after a search and seizure warrant executed at the house led to the recovery of drug paraphernalia and "other items of evidentiary value."

The initial investigation determined that the two victims were brother and sister living in the Perryville house with their mother, though there was no one else home when the emergency call came in rom the child.

"(She) reported her brother and sister were suffering from an unknown medical condition," police said. "She later told police that she came home and found her siblings unconscious on their bedroom floor."

Officials noted that there was no signs of violence in the area where the children were found.

The investigation is ongoing. Child Protective Services was also notified.
